Whyalla receives $40 million funding injection

The Malinauskas Government has announced a $20 million suite of funding for Whyalla today.

The State Government will deliver a $13.8 million contribution to deliver vital upgrades to the Whyalla Airport.

The new funding, coupled with the Albanese Labor Government’s $16.2 million contribution and $2.4 million from the Whyalla City Council covers the project cost of $32.4 million.

An additional $5 million will also fully fund the Whyalla Surf Club and Cafe upgrade, while a $1.7 million workforce package will help impacted workers and contractors.

$100,000 will also go to a study into the design options for the Cuttlefish Cove Experience.

In conjunction with the Federal Albanese Government’s recent funding announcements, more than $40 million is being injected into the region by both State and Federal Labor Governments.
