Three teenagers arrested for stolen ute in Port Augusta

Police have arrested three teenagers after they allegedly stole a ute in Port Augusta West this week.

It’s alleged the Toyota utility was reported stolen about 3am on Tuesday 11 March, from a property on Daw Street in Port Augusta West.

Just after 12am on Wednesday 12 March, police spotted the stolen ute on Victoria Parade, Port Augusta West however the driver refused to stop.

Just after 2am on Wednesday 12 March, police were notified of three teenagers walking on Augusta Highway, Port Germein.

Police attended and located a 13-year-old boy from Whyalla Stuart, a 13-year-old boy and 15-year-old boy from Port Augusta West.

The stolen ute was located a short distance away near the railway track at Port Germein.

The group were arrested and charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and refused bail and they are expected to attend in the Port Pirie Magistrates court later today.
