Baroota Creek has sprung to life ahead of Spring, flowing with reservoir-fed water.
More than a billion litres of water will be sent down Baroota and Crystal Brook Creeks over the coming weeks in hopes it will improve the resilience of river red gums, which are declining in condition.
Some of the gum trees are estimated to be more than 500 years old.
