A man has been caught drink driving after he was found hooning metres from police in Clare.
Patrols were on Spring Gully Road yesterday afternoon when they heard an engine revving and smoke filling the air.
An orange Holden sedan was found only 400 metres away doing burnouts at the intersection of Gillentown Road.
Police stopped the driver for a breath test, where he returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.109.
The 32-year-old man was reported for misuse of a motor vehicle and drink driving. He was also issued with a six-month instant loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded.
He will front the Clare Magistrates Court at a later date.
