There are fears more Aussies will lose their lives to drowning this Easter, prompting warnings to take extra care around the water.
Doctor Will Coon from the Royal Life Saving Society says 123 people have died in the water over the last 20 Easter breaks – an average of six every year.
“Anyone headed out to enjoy the water, go for a swim or get on a boat, really does need to keep water safety top of mind,” Doctor Coon says.
