A man has been charged with multiple counts of assault after an incident in Risdon Park.

A 79-year-old local man was out for his morning walk at Woodward Park just before 7am on Tuesday 22 April when he was allegedly assaulted and knocked to the ground by a younger man.

It is also alleged the suspect stole the elderly veteran’s military hat and watch during the altercation.
