A multi-million-dollar upgrade could be on the way for Whyalla airport…
It comes as Qantas announced plans to phase out their smaller Q200 and Q300 aircraft for larger, faster and newer Q400 planes.
Council says the airport will need to be upgraded to accommodate the weight of the bigger planes.

Qantas has estimated the bill could be between 10 and 25 million dollars.
