A local farmer plans to make a difference in the agriculture sector, and he’s accepted an internship on the Eyre Peninsula to do it.
Alex Busch, a student and farmer from just outside Saddleworth, will be the fourth intern to participate in AIR EP’s internship program since it began in 2021.
“I want to make a positive difference in agriculture, particularly in the management of soils, Mr Busch says.
“I’m excited to be working on the EP with the vast range of landscapes and challenges, which are significantly different from my own area.”
AIR EP Executive Officer Naomi Scholz says the internship equips agriculture graduates with valuable experience, and attracts them into local careers.
“The program gives our interns the opportunity to learn as much as possible about being a grains
researcher, to experience different farming systems and develop their networks across the EP,” Ms Scholz explains.
